N.Z.D.A. Publications

The Association publishes its own magazine, "New Zealand Hunting & Wildlife", quarterly. This magazine is supplied free to members, is available by subscription, and from selected bookshops and sports stores.

During its existence the Association has been involved in several other publications including:

"My Stalking Memories", by Major R.A. Wilson D.S.O
  A reprint of one of the classic hunting books of New Zealand. The book recalls a golden age of deer-stalking in New Zealand, when sportsmen from all around the world were drawn here in search of world-class trophies.
"The Deerstalkers", by Philip Holden
A history of the first 50 years of the New Zealand Deerstalkers' Association
New Zealand Big Game Records Series
A series of books, written & compiled by D. Bruce Banwell on behalf of the Association, containing detailed information about each of New Zealand's Game Animals and a record of trophies that have qualified for inclusion. The following volumes have been published to date:

To Hunt and Return. This paper researched by Inspector Joe Green Manager Firearms Licencing and Vetting for the NZ Police, assisted by John Greenwood, a NZ Mountain Safety Council instructor, regarding colours in the bush, provides an analysis of the deaths of 33 deer hunters, shot by other deer hunters while hunting in New Zealand bush.
